Morning!
Following up on yesterday’s course announcement, Week 1 of the Cognitive Fingerprint class with Max Bernstein starts in 90 minutes (11am EST today).
Below is info on how to prep…
Course Overview
In an age of AI-generated content, being able to authentically share ideas in your voice with your unique frameworks is a critical skill for standing out.
The problem is that it’s hard for us to see our own unique genius on two levels:
The things we’re really good at are so obvious to us, it’s hard to see their unique value.
When we master things, we learn to do them unconsciously. We embody the knowledge. Thus, it becomes invisible to us, making it difficult to share with others.
In this course, Max (one of the smartest AI people I know) will teach you the exact extraction methodology he’s developed over thousands of hours:
The specific prompts that surface your invisible frameworks from transcripts
The pattern recognition techniques that reveal your conditional knowledge (your decision-making patterns)
The facilitation approach that makes experts cry when they finally see what they’ve been doing for 30 years
The AI workflows that track patterns across dimensions you can’t hold in working memory
Quick Prep: What To Bring To Class
You’ll need 3-5 recordings or transcripts from your actual work:
Client coaching calls or consulting sessions
Training sessions you’ve delivered
Workshops you’ve facilitated
Strategy calls or discovery sessions
Podcast interviews where you’re explaining your approach
Pick the messy, real ones. Not the polished presentations. We’re hunting for unconscious competence in action. The stuff you do automatically without thinking about it.
Start Thinking About These Questions
During today’s session, you’ll fill out a methodology extraction document. To make the most of our time together, start thinking about:
Question 1: How do you describe what you do?
If a potential client asked about your methodology right now, what would you say? (Think 2-3 sentences)
Question 2: What happened throughout a recent session?
Pick one specific client engagement from the last few months. Start replaying it in your mind:
What was the situation when you started?
What did you notice that others might have missed?
What did you actually DO? (Not what you planned - what actually happened)
Did you adjust anything midway through? What triggered that change?
What was the outcome?
You don’t need to write anything yet—just start thinking about a specific example you can use during class.
What to Expect Today
We’re going to get hands-on. You’ll analyze your actual work, identify patterns you execute unconsciously, and start documenting the frameworks you didn’t know you had.
By the end of today’s 90 minutes, you’ll have:
3-5 unnamed frameworks identified and given working titles
Your “automatic excellence inventory” - things you do without thinking.
See you at 11am EST.
